Problem Note 38920: SFTP FILENAME access method hangs when run interactively with newer versions of OpenSSH
The SFTP FILENAME access method will hang when running against later versions of OpenSSH.
This is because of a change in the response sent from the newer versions of OpenSSH. SAS expects the sftp> prompt to be returned in the first response buffer, but in the newer versions of OpenSSH the prompt is not sent until the second buffer. It appears that this change was made beginning with OpenSSH 4.0.
This problem will be addressed in a future maintenance release of SAS® 9.2.
As a workaround, the BATCHFILE option may be used on the SFTP FILENAME access method, because it is not affected by this change in OpenSSH behavior.
